A motorway slip road will be closed for two nights as part of wider improvements to the road surface.

The westbound entry slip road at junction five of the M27 near Southampton Airport will be closed from 21:00 GMT on 13-15 March.

The work is part of preparation ahead of installing traffic management measures on the main carriageway.

National Highways aims to fit a new low-noise surface between junctions five and seven.

The concrete layer of the motorway section will be overlaid with low noise surface asphalt.

The thickness of the new layer means changes will be needed to drainage, barriers and additional safety measures as part of the work.

The wider scheme is expected to cost around £83 million and end in Spring 2026.
